Who we are

The Waterloo-Wellington Learning Alliance is a partnership of three local volunteer centres who all provide professional development as part of their services. It is an Education and Training service for community benefit organizations in the Region of Waterloo and Wellington County offering game-changing training and consultation in board governance, senior leadership and management of volunteers.

We recognize that there is a strong desire for community benefit organizations to have access to valuable training that helps them take their efforts to a new level. Our goal is to work inter-regionally yet maintain the capacity to address local needs and characteristics across Waterloo-Wellington. This collaboration allows us to deliver higher-quality learning opportunities which ensure long-term connections between participants, engage provincial and national resources to strengthen work in our communities, and more effectively utilize the resources currently at our disposal.

Vision: We envision strong, resilient organizations that create strength and well-being in their communities.

Mission: Our mission is to collaboratively facilitate a learning program that will enable, fuel and empower community-oriented work in the voluntary sector in Cambridge, Kitchener-Waterloo and Guelph. Centres include; the Volunteer Action Centre of Kitchener-Waterloo; PIN The People and Information Network (formerly Volunteer Centre of Guelph/Wellington); United Way of WR – Volunteer Centre (formerly United Way of Cambridge North Dumfries).
